OPA564 output capacity issue

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA564

Hi Team,

I am using OPA564 with 24V power supply.  I noticed that we can have 20Vpp@1.5A output capacity per the description on datasheet.

But my real testing results is far less than it. may I know the test condition of 20Vpp@1.5A  output?  What is the gain? Can I use 24V single supply? May I have a draft testing schematic?

Any comments will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

Best,

Lei Wang

  • 20Vpp@1.5A means that when OPA564 output is 20Vpp, its output current could get to 1.5A under the the safe operating area. The safe operating area means room temperature , and the best heatsinking efforts. Note that the safe output current decreases as (V+) – VOUT or VOUT – (V–) increases.

Please refer to the FIgure 46 of the waveform.

Yes, you could use 24V single power supply, as the gain, you could caculate with 20Vpp/Vinpp.
